WHY PEOPLE JOIN WRITING SITES EVEN AFTER THEY ARE WARNED
Writing Sites, more properly called "Publishing Sites"proliferate as weeds in a garden.
Some are just wastes of keystrokes, the 1c one gets after 1000 hits is an insult, and the only use is vanity or venting. Others pay a little better, but no site currently on the Internet actually pays anything near fair or reasonable for the amount of work that is demanded. |
Yet, People Join
Even when told they could form their own blog and join Adsense, and just as many if not more hits (as most Publishing Sites are ranked as 'Content Farms' and score low in the Google Algorithm) people still join the various sites as if somehow they will gain more than 1c for 1000 hits (or 0c if no one clicks an ad.)
Then comes the Ponzi
If one does a Google linking Factoidz + Scam or Rip off there are tens of thousands of reports. Reports from people all over the world. The average intellect is left in no doubt the reports are true.
Further, despite the bluster and threats of Factoidz's owner, and attacks of its Shills, because the reports are true, the Site changed its name to KNOJI. Yet, people join Knoji. Why?

As with any Ponzi
Ponzi Schemes always work because of the skill of the Ponzi and his Shills. These are people who have the ability to run a long Con. They know how to present an aura of honesty; people believe what they say.
A Ponzi can utter a clear lie, a lie that can easily be exposed, yet, the attempt to verify is not madesimply because the Ponzi is so believable.
The average person, reading responses of Mike Quac to articles which expose Factoidz for the scam it is want to believe him. Want to nod and assume that the writer somehow 'broke the rules' which gave Factoidz carte blanche to steal the writing, gain revenue from it and kick the writer off the site.
The fact that paragraph can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt by hundreds of victims all over the world, (Quoc especially focuses on those who do not live in America), doesn't seem to dissuade the average intellect. This is skill of the Ponzi.

How Knoji's Scam Works
Having learned a few tricks from Factoidz, Quac begins with a 'free trial' that is, he publishes articles he doesn't pay for during this free trial.
Once the writer is accepted as qualified to write for a 'prestigious' site as Knoji they receive and ever shrinking 'activity bonus' for each.
It begins at about $1.00 per article. This 'upfront payment', unknown to the writer, is the purchase of the article.
The writer, thinking it is a 'gift' continues to submit, certain that he is making far more at Knoji than he would at Triond, Hubpages, or Wikinut. On these sites, to get $1.00 one needs thousands of hits. Hence one publishes on Knoji and starts a few thousand hits ahead of the others. Getting an extra 1c for ten or twenty hits is a leg up on all other sites.
After about a month of articles, the writer finds ;
Triond.........3564 hits.......$2.39
Hubpages.....2765 hits.......$3.21
Wikinut.......5438 hits.......$2.45
Knoji..........1000 hits......$15.43
That is the 1st month.
The 'bonus begins to drop after that, going from $1.00 to 50c to 20c, to 10c, so that at the end of the second month, the balance sheet looks like:
Triond.........3856 hits.......$3.09
Hubpages.....2965 hits.......$3.71
Wikinut.......5123 hits.......$2.05
Knoji..........1000 hits.......$5.43
By the third month:
Triond.........3156 hits.......$2.16
Hubpages.....3965 hits.......$4.01
Wikinut.......5323 hits.......$2.15
Knoji..........1000 hits.......$2.03
The other figures have stayed pretty much the same, while Knoji has dropped to less than Wikinut. By this time, the writer has probably contributed about 50 articles, and although most will be substandard as the quality of Knoji is extremely low(despite Quacs disclaimers) a few articles will be good enough to be spun and posted elsewhere.
The writer , of course has lost his copyright; (it was 'paid' by that 10c Bonus).

You Can Prove It...Yet
Most writers, like other gamblers keep thinking their 'luck' will change. that somehow what happened to all those who were ripped off will not happen to them. Perhaps if they keep writing, perhaps if they gain more followers their 'bonus' will increase. Perhaps....never getting the base fact that a site like Knoji is a money spinner. It is there not for any other purpose save to make money for the owner.
