The Deconstruction of Triond
Once upon a time there was a'writing' site called Triond. It was the leader in online publishing. Unlike other sites have one standard presentation, Triond created a number of subsites for different topics. If one wrote about acne the article would be published on 'Healthmad' which seemed part of a medical journal. If one wrote on a 'woman's topic' the item would appear on 'Beyond Jane'. This added a somewhat professional gloss.
Along with this bonus of presentation was pay. One would be paid by Triond PLUS Adsense. The Adsense payout was as much or more than the Triond.
And speaking of 'pay' this was all 'upfront'. One knew how much per subsite per hit; an article on Quazen was 1c for every 6 hits, while Authspot was 1c for every 25 hits.
Further, the number of hits and earnings were posted daily and constantly updated. At log on one knew how many hits, on what articles, how many comments, how much earned.

Becoming a 'Content Farm'
When one uses the term 'Content Farm' in relation to online writing it means a site which has no validity. It is a field growing nothing but cow patties. It is not worthy to be read, included in Search Engines and certainly not to attract the Adsense pennies.
Google, which not only has the largest Search engine but owns Adsense, had warned that unless there was some serious attempt by websites to remove substandard garbage, it would rework its search criterion to remove them from contemplation.
Triond ignored the warning.

What Triond did or didn't Do
A few years ago, Triond stopped moderating submissions and replaced human editors with a piece of crap software.
When it comes to aesthetics there is no replacement for a human brain.
This became obvious to Triond users.
At almost the same time, Triond introduced its unmoderated forum.
This Forum gave a home to Trolls. It was in that Forum the scam of getting garbage rated as "Hot Content" was devised.
As soon as garbage was published all rolls and their Duals would immediately thumbs up. This got a just published item rated as "Hot Content."
Visitors would enter the Triond site, see "'Hot Content' and click on it. Hence a cow patty, which never would have been published if a single human eye touched it, was now the 'Top Ranking' item on the site.
This was followed by the bogus articles, claiming a popular actor was dead or other such sensationalistic rubbish which got millions of hits.
As ridiculous as this may seem, it was obscured by the 'Ulsterman Report' called
"Whitehouse Insider."

Whitehouse Insider
_A group of Trolls got together to concoct a fiction. they
searched for the most incendiary idea and knowing Triond would do
nothing to hinder them, began the most sordid episode in Triond's
history.
Anyone with a ninth of a brain would know that this 'Insider' was a complete fraud. The quality of writing, the topic, everything about it was so patently fabricated that only the most besotted Tea Party moron could click on it. But click they did. Click and click, and blog about it, and so that it received millions of hits and has become a permanent feature of 'Hot Content'.
The 'Ulsterman' crew thought about moving their garbage to their own blog where they would get 100% of Ad revenue. Triond went one better; give them their very own section on their Stanza publishing site.

Triond Reaps What it Allowed To be Sown
The chart above was obtained from compete.com. As you can see, hits have fallen by 51%. This is not due only to the exit of the 'Whitehouse Insider'. It is due to the fact that articles published on Triond are relegated to the last pages of a Google search.
As most hits come from Google, since many Networking sites won't promote anything from Triond, visits have fallen by 51%.
Through a concerted policy of neglect, Triond allowed itself to become known as a Content Farm.
It allowed the worst garbage to gain the most attention. Any serious writer will and must avoid Triond. As will any serious reader.
