More Writing Sites
In a previous article I mentioned Triond, Wikinut, Xomba, and Factoidz. Of course there are others, each with its positive and negative aspect. These are some of them.
This site is very much like Triond. It now pays only through Adsense. One does keep their copyright, one does get paid, and republishing work done on Triond is possible. The administration is a bit more gutsier than Triond.
This is one of the most well known sites. It accepts almost every kind of article, from fiction to how to. It does not interfere with your copyright. The payment, however, is via Adsense. And Adsense alone. Where Triond pays you plus Adsense, meaning that you can often get $10 from Triond and $10 from Adsense, for some reason, the coin gathered from Hubpages is usually in the cents. 74c for example is not unusual for a month's 'pay'.
Further, if anyone complains about your article, even a guest or troll who stalks you, they will demand corrections and/or remove the Hub. They are terrifed of Factoidz/Knoji for some reason, so do not dare mention those names.

This is a site where you work pretty hard for that $10. Firstly, you have to review other work. Secondly, you are in competition with others. You might have spent two hours researching Anne Boleyn, someone else's article is selected. You get Nothing. If your work is accepted, it is a one off payment; not much. Further, unlike other sites you have to write what Helium desires.
I don't know anyone who has ever gotten paid on this site. One may write what they want, one might get a lot of hits, but one is paid by Clicks on Adsense. This means if no one clicked an Ad you get nothing. Those who write Ad copy might do well
Always Read the Terms of Service
To your left is something you probably clicked "I Agree" to without reading. When it comes to your original work, NEVER click I Agree without carefully reading every single word.
Many people have given away their copyright without realising it. They have seen their short stories published on an online site turned into episodes of their favourite television serial. They have seen items they contributed to an anthology reprinted in major hard copy magazines.
Never sign away your copyright unless you are paid for it; and $20 is not pay, not unless it is something you couldn't care less about; i.e. a review of sparkplugs or a paraphrased wikipedia entry.
If you are unsure about whether or not you still own your copyright, try to delete an item. If you can't, you don't own it. (You can not delete on Knoji, for example.)
